How it all began
I can remember it like it was yesterday, in the schooling ring in Saratoga, warming up for the Amateur Owner Hunters. Saratoga is always known to have a few rainy show days and this day was no different. My best friend and fellow competitor, Ali, was with me sloshing around when I uttered the notion of wet diapers. We both laughed a little too hard and kept right on going through the slop – doing our best to prepare to go in and wow the judges. Luckily, we both had horses that were great mudders and could handle the elements, but for the equestrians who need to match the level of performance with their equine partners, all-weather attire options have been very limited. Until now.
We all know from experience how often the weather can disappoint us – but we also know that the show must always go on! Never would I have thought that my goofy declaration at Saratoga would eventually be the spark that inspired Weather Or Not Equestrian. I realized, as competitive athletes, we all need high performing technical clothing to enhance and support us in riding through the elements that Mother Nature may throw at us on any given day.
As the inspiration for Weather or Not Equestrian continued to grow, I knew that I didn’t want to go down this road blindly – I wanted to gain the vision, knowledge, and skill it would take to bring a quality product to market for my fellow equestrians. I have spent the past few years working on all of these things and now – in the months to come, this dream is becoming a reality!
